Lia

“You know we should hang out sometime,” he said casually. But Lia’s heart was beating a mile a minute. Was he asking her out? But he mouth automatically responded without her really noticing.
“Sure sounds cool,” they both walked to their repective classes and she asked the silent question of why on earth were boys so confusing? Especially him. The strange signals she was getting were just plain weird. And suddenly Lia was wishing she had actually read thosee articles in Seventeen on how to tell what the mixed signals mean. But maybe she was reading to much into this?
“Lia, disecting pins,” Mr. Johnson asked.
“Um dissecting pins are used to hold down the specimen during disection so parts don’t flop back in your way or accidentally move,” Lia explained.
“Correct Charlie forceps?” Lia stopped paying attention again. She had learned it all already, and was bored out of her skull. Her toughts wandered again and she tried to keep them away from him. He was only across the hall in math acually, not that far away….. But Lia didn’t want to think these thoughts. Lia wanted to be able to concentrate of schooolwork and reasearch and boys were most certainly not on her schedule. She really never should have transferred out of Welsh but it really was a terrible school. For all inteents and purposes, the charter school was excellent. It was right near the library andDunkin’ Donuts. It was close enough too walk to…. But damn! He was actually attractive! Lia could have killed Clarissa for deciving her and making her believe that all of the boys at the school were ugly.
Lia made an excutive descision as she finished up her science test. Flipping it over she daydreamed somemore. She was snapped out of it (literally) when Clarissa snapped her fingers in Lia’s face
“Oh class is over?” Blinked Lia.
“Well yes, it’s time for math you ok Li?” Clarissa asked.
“I’m fine Rissa, but I don’t think I’m fully lucid today,” she sighed dreamily. As they walked out of the classroom Lia did one of her trip over thin air things again and ended up on the floor. By his feet as it were.
“Can’t you even walk by yourself?” Clarissa asked.
“Apperently not,” Lia grumbled as he helped her up. “Thanks
Taren,’ Lia smiled at him, before walking away. Sighing, he looked after her for a second, before walking into science.
